Cervicofacial lift
The procedure involves correcting the sagging tissues of the face and neck (cheek, jowls, facial contour and neck) thus reducing wrinkles. Loose tissues can result from the combined effect of age and of a number of various environmental aggressions (prolonged sun exposure, smoking, life stress, and others). The skin grows lax and thinner and the facial contour loses its definition. The SMAS lift procedure tightens the facial skin and reshapes collapsed underlying muscle tissues.
SMAS is an acronym for Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System which refers to the sheet of muscle and connective tissue lying right underneath superficial top layers of skin.
Surgeons have realized over time that they had to go this deep to achieve lasting results.
A combined liposuction may be processed to eliminate fat deposits (double-chin, neck adipose, fatty jowls). SMAS face & neck lift can be performed in conjunction with other procedures:
- Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty),
- Brow lift, forehead lift,
- Anti-wrinkle treatment by a chemical peel, dermabrasion or laser resurfacing, both ablative and nonablative.
The face & neck lift provides dramatic, natural, and long-lasting results. The outcome is generally a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
